Mechanical Products is a stand-alone business unit with about $500M in annual revenue.Our global locations include 66 manufacturing and distribution centers in the US, Canada, the United Kingdom, China, Australia, and New Zealand with over 4,000 employees.We are currently searching for an Accounts Receivable Clerk to be based out of our Downey, CA location. Reporting to the Accounting Lead, this person will be responsible for a variety of cash application duties, billing customers, and customer collections.The ideal candidate will have 3 years accounting/office experience in a multi-facility environment and experience using Syteline or JD Edwards . Experience in lean manufacturing or business system based company is a plus.Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Post customer payments by recording check, ACH, wire, and credit card transactions.Create charge backs and other deductions consistent with customer payment advice.Interact with credit analysts and deduction personnel to assist in resolving disputes.Contact customers to resolve issues with remittance advice and their electronic payments.Resolves collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, credit line; coordinating contact with collections department.Assist in monthly closing activities.Support bank and system cash balancing.Scan checks received directly to the bank for deposit.Perform daily billing function; generate invoices for mailing/emailing.Maintains records and backup documentation related to accounts receivablePerforms other duties as assigned.Qualifications include:Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Management preferred3+ years of accounting/office experience in a multi-facility environment; in Accounts Receivable preferredExperience using Syteline or JD EdwardsExperience using Excel, Word and OutlookExperience using Excel in downloading data and formatting spread sheetsEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to handle high volume transactions in a fast paced environment with emphasis on accuracy and timelinessSelf-starter and problem solverExcellent attention to detailGood organizational skills and ability to consistently meet all deadlinesAll associates must embrace and foster an environment that supports our core values of integrity, respect, excellence, teamwork and accountability.Our Culture Drives ValueAtkore's culture is created from the disciplined use of the Atkore Business System (ABS), which is a critical part of our mission and a foundational system based on excellence in People, Strategy, and Processes, tied together with Lean Daily Management (LDM) to manage and sustain the business we have today, and Strategy Deployment Process (SDP) to create the business we aspire to become.Having the right talent in the right roles enables successful ABS execution, improves our customer's experience, and delivers breakthrough results.
