Job Description:
Litigation Attorney - Nuisance Abatement and Municipal Law
DRWelch is hiring a full-time Litigation Attorney to help build our
Narcotics Abatement practice. In this position, you will work with
law enforcement and government officials to close down illegal
narcotics businesses and recover fines and fees from narcotic
business owners and those supporting their illegal activity. Your
work will include investigating claims of money laundering, illegal
narcotics trafficking, and violation of federal, state, and
municipal laws.
Litigation experience required. You must have experience drafting
pleadings, propounding and responding to discovery, and researching
in-depth legal issues. We seek an experienced attorney that can
handle narcotics abatement cases from start to finish. Previous law
enforcement, financial banking, or real estate experience is a
plus. Our firm is cloud-based, allowing our attorneys to work
remotely.
We are looking for a self-starter. We want you to take ownership
over your cases and feel free to develop your own strategy with
each case. We will provide you with training and will work as a
team to win each case.
You must be an effective communicator. One of our core values is
teamwork. Teams work best with effective and collaborative
communication. It is important that our new attorney feel
comfortable in adding input to our ongoing cases and also feel
comfortable asking questions and seeking advice from the other
members of our firm.
Qualifications:
--- Litigation experience required
--- Licensed to practice law in California
Salary: Starting $130,000. A higher salary--would depend on
experience. Discretionary annual bonus depending on performance.
1,750 billable hour expectations per year. Medical, vision/dental
offered, profit sharing plan. There is a vesting period for the
profit-sharing plan.
Responsibilities:
Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal
research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal
advice
Create legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, motions,
pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements for
contract negotiations and proceedings
Resolve cases efficiently by using communicating effectively with
and working alongside senior attorneys and paralegals
Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options,
and diligently work to determine the best course of action
Keep files organized to make sure the most recent updates are
accessible to other attorneys, paralegals, and staff
Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law
school
Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed
in order to work with all levels of staff and our clients
Willingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs
and grow our client base
