We are seeking an experienced Trauma Surgeon for a locum tenens opportunity in California. This assignment begins on Mar 4, 2026, spans 40 days, and features 24-hour in-house shifts rotating between trauma and acute care surgery at a Trauma Center. Candidates must be comfortable supervising residents and managing a mix of trauma and general surgery cases. Job Details - Location: California - Facility Type: Trauma Center - Start Date: Mar 4, 2026 - LOA: 40 days - Provider Type Needed: Trauma Surgeon - Schedule: 24-hour in-house shifts (7am-7am); initial urgent stretch from Mar 4 through Mar 11, with additional 6-8 shifts mid-to-late March and ongoing schedule to be determined Responsibilities and Duties - Provide in-house trauma care and acute care surgery coverage - Manage trauma and general surgery cases during assigned shifts - Rotate between in-house trauma and ACS shifts as scheduled - Respond within 15 minutes when on 24-hour trauma shifts - Supervise residents throughout assigned shifts Additional Information - California medical license required - Board certification in General Surgery required - Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification required - Must be comfortable with both trauma and general surgery cases - Previous Trauma Center experience strongly preferred Benefits - Strong compensation - Travel-related expenses covered - A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided - Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
