Job Description Join VICSD as a DVM Sonographer and become a
vital part of advancing veterinary care in San Diego. This role is
perfect for veterinarians passionate about ultrasound and eager to
collaborate with local clinics to deliver exceptional diagnostic
services. You’ll be the go-to expert for mobile ultrasound, helping
DVMs provide timely, accurate care for their patients. Your journey
begins with comprehensive training. For the first six months,
you’ll work closely with our in-house team, gaining hands-on
experience and deepening your knowledge of small animal anatomy,
pathology, and ultrasound techniques. This phase is self-driven yet
fully supported, ensuring you build confidence and expertise
through real cases, guided scanning, and report writing. Once
trained, you’ll step into a dynamic role as a mobile DVM
sonographer. You’ll travel to clinics across San Diego, performing
real-time ultrasounds, guiding diagnostic procedures, and
collaborating with veterinarians to interpret results. Your work
will directly impact patient outcomes while offering flexibility,

we’d love to hear from you. Experience DVM degree, California state
license (REQUIRED) Completion of a rotating internship in small
animal medicine and surgery or 3 years of small animal private
practice; Passion for ultrasound and diagnostic imaging Interest
and initiative in learning and improving your ultrasound skills
Excellent skills with people and time management. Position
Requirements Ability to travel between clinics and lift/move
equipment (~40 lbs). Assist with animal restraint, imaging, and
handling animals over 30 lbs. Work collaboratively and respectfully
with VICSD and RDVM staff. Self-motivated and adaptable to varied
DVM personalities. Present cases and findings clearly to remote
specialists. Communicate ultrasound results, conclusions, and
recommendations effectively. Comfortable with: Varying table
heights for scans Sedation protocols Performing FNAs and
cystocentesis Available at least 8 hours/day, 4 days/week. Must
pass personal and driving background checks. Prior formal
ultrasound training. Preferred Skills (Not Required) Consistent
blood draws for pre-FNA screening. Basic computer/laptop
troubleshooting. Salary Transparency The range of our base salary
cash compensation for this role is between $70,500-$110,000. All
final offers are determined using multiple factors including
experience and level of expertise. Job Type: Full-time Pay:
