About Us: SCADP Southern California Alcohol and Drug Programs, Inc. (SCADP) was established in 1972 in a grassroots effort by community volunteers seeking alternatives for individuals with substance use disorder (SUD). SCADP is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization providing residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment. JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE The COVID Mitigation / Sexual Reproductive Health Worker utilizes scientific and technical expertise, and manual skills, to provide training for clients participating in residential Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment, while monitoring social distancing and health condition of participants. Duties include providing COVID and Sexual Reproductive Health education for staff and clients, collecting testing and vaccine data, watching and reporting client behavior, monitoring vital signs, and encouraging proper contagion preventive measures in a community living environment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES --- Facilitating group and One-on-One COVID and Sexual Health education for staff and clients at 3 residential SUD treatment sites --- Collecting testing data, assemble reports on spreadsheets for all sites --- Collecting vaccine data and scheduling vaccine clinic at site or make off site appointments when required --- Designing and distributing COVID information flyers on testing and vaccines --- Reviewing medication compliance for those with complex health/MH issues including vitals recording --- Observing and educating staff and clients about PPE and hand washing, sanitation of community living environment --- Provide assistance, interacting in a positive manner, utilizing techniques suggested by the primary caregiver and approved by Program Staff. --- Monitor social distancing effort, condition of clients --- Contact Program staff immediately if a difficult situation arises --- Be knowledgeable of local emergency responders, be ready and able to seek immediate emergency support (Fire, Ambulance, Police). Qualifications REQUIREMENTS: --- Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications --- Must have reliable transportation EDUCATION: --- Current and valid California Nursing Assistant Certification EXPERIENCE: --- One year providing hands-on care to people with varying degrees of mental illnesses, Substance Use Disorder and/or developmental disabilities as a paid worker or volunteer, post - licensure TECHNOLOGY SKILLS: --- Basic Microsoft operating system skills: Outlook, Office, Word, Excel. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: --- Ability to administer various COVID and other medical testing and providing results --- Excellent communication skills at level necessary for taking patients' medical histories, understanding provider and supervisor instructions, and for accurately documenting patients' medical information --- Able to facilitate group instruction as well as one-on-one instruction --- Able to maintain pleasant demeanor with participants --- Demonstrate concern and respect for participants --- Be alert and ensure safety of staff and participants --- Ability to perform under circumstances of possible emotional stress and conflict, including dealing with un-cooperative clients --- Ability to effectively communicate with recovering population and program staff while demonstrating a high degree of diplomacy and tact --- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, with or without reasonable accommodation, including meeting qualitative and quantitative productivity standards. --- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
