Director, Interim and Site-Based Housing QUALIFICATIONS:
Extensive knowledge of interim and permanent site-based housing
settings and social service systems. Demonstrated capacity leading
diverse and multidisciplinary teams towards a common goal.Flexible,
acute problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under
competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Bi-lingual
(English/Spanish).Possess a positive attitude, an ability to
comfortably interact with diverse populations, be energetic and
independent, and have a strong desire to learn.Strong verbal and
writing skills are required. Must be able to document in a clear
and concise manner and in accordance with LAHSA and The Whole Child
policies and procedures. Typing skills and computer proficiency,
including Microsoft Office Suite.Strong commitment to children and
families, and a willingness to take the steps necessary to assure
their well-being. Ability to work independently and with others -
including other employees, clients, and members of the public -- in
face-to-face, virtual, and telephonic contexts.Ability to be
flexible and adapt to changing work demands.Ability to respond
effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Maintain a high
level of ethical and professional standards.Ability to accept
diverse personal and cultural behaviors.Must exhibit flexibility,
mature judgment, confidence, and competence. REPORTS TO: Managing
Director, Housing Program DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Maintains the
responsibility for ensuring interim and site-based housing programs
are delivered within required scoop of services and TWC mission,
vision, and values.Assures that services are provided in
collaboration with applicable funding streams and
regulations.Responsible for Continues Quality Improvement standards
across housing option programs and work with the team to implement
systems for CQI and outlined per COA standards. Work closely with
housing leadership team to successfully manage fiscal and
contracts.Provides direct support to staffers in, conflict
resolution, problem solving, crisis support, and coaching on
activities of daily living to clients and families in the
shelter.Promote the alignment between mental health and housing
services.Represent TWC at community events and meetings and
participate un learning networks related to interim and permanent
housing. Network, develop and maintains strong working
relationships with community partner agencies networks and
stakeholders in the Service Planning Areas (SPA).Establishes a
harmonious working relationship with community and coordinates
services appropriate and needed for the purpose of improving
programmingEnsures that there is a flow of participants and
referrals into programs and that discharge are managed in a way
that promotes positive outcomes. Assist in Manages crisis
situations and Grievance Process that adheres to safety and housing
practice protocols.Assures rights of clients are adhered to within
shelter policies and guidelines.In partnership with Managing
Director, Housing Program, develop and implement staff training
manual and in-service trainings as needed.Supports all existing
agency policies, principles, and mission.Maintain confidentiality
in matters of agency operation, personnel, and clients.Exercise
good judgment in performance of all duties and responsibilities,
including maintaining good boundaries and professional
conduct.Other related duties as assigned and approved by the
Managing Director, Housing Program. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND
EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or other
social services related discipline.Minimum 3 years of progressive
administrative, direct service, and leadership skills and
experience in the social service field.Minimum 3 combined years'
experience demonstrated effectiveness work in social services,
preferred interim or permanent housing homeless services.Have a
least 2 years of experience building and managing teams.Have a
least 2 years managing budgets and government contracts. MANDATORY
REQUIRMENTS Requires California driver's license, personal vehicle,
and proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage and the ability to
drive for work.Provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination
Successfully compete the following as a condition of
hire:Tuberculosis TestBackground Screening WORKING CONDITIONS: Work
is performed in shelter setting. Noise level is moderate with
occasional loud outbursts. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve
practical problems and address a variety of variables in situations
where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a
variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or
schedule form. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to remain in a
stationary position 50% of the time. Needs to move about the
shelter premises and inside the office to access file cabinets,
office machinery, etc.Uses computer and other office machinery,
(i.e., calculator, copy machine and printer).Constantly converses
with staff and clients.Occasionally needs to transport materials
(toys, books, etc.) weighing up to 50 pounds. The Whole Child is an
